October 28, 2008

In continuation with the Air Jordan Six Ring Shoes in the Black and Red pics that I did a bit a go, here is a post featuring the newly released Air Jordan Six Ring Shoes in the Concord color. The shoes came out on October 25th and are just as tight as the black and red version.

I highly suggest running to your nearest sneaker store and seeing what these kicks look like in person. They are so tight but they’re blowing out the door quick.

METALLICA!!! North American Tour is well underway!

October 22, 2008

The masters of metal have done it again! The show last night at Jobing.com arena was nothing less than amazing. After a brief warm-up with The Sword and Down, the crowd went nuts and let loose when Metallica hit the stage. They had an awesome set list with phenomenal songs from Death Magnetic with the old favorites like One and Master of Puppets. They even threw the Four Horsemen in there and closed with Seek and Destroy. My buddies and I were on the rail the entire night and I was lucky enough to walk away with a METALLICA GUITAR PICK. Oh it just doesn’t get any better than this. The picture below was taken from my cell phone. The quality isn’t great but I can’t complain.

I Love October!!!

October 21, 2008

This is one of the greatest months of the year for the diverse sports fans of the nation. The world series for Major League Baseball is about to get underway, the National Football League is deep into the season with no clear-cut playoff picture yet, and the season is about to start for the National Basketball Association with many thrilling pre-season games already in the books. There is so much to watch and so little time. And I’m not even counting college sports yet. It’s great how you can watch your favorite players and watch them develop over time as they begin to dominate their sport. The maturity of athletes is amazing not just from a physical aspect, but from a mental one as well. It’s really fun to see the starts who get injured and begin to become the butt of jokes and write-offs from the media only to come back stronger and more dominant than before. Those are the people who put their time in. They put in countless hours of work towards recovery with grueling rehabilitation and strengthening exercises. It reminds me of equine hydrotherapy for horses.

We’ll see how the Rays hold up against the Philly fans as the plot is written for the 2008 world series of baseball. Meanwhile, NBA teams will begin their quest all with one goal in mind, to derail the Boston Celtics while the Green boys try to stay on top. And as far as the NFL goes, it is anyone’s year at this point. I guess we’ll just have to watch and see what happens.

Where to Eat Out When Eating Healthy is a Priority

October 15, 2008

An awesome article was posted today on the the Microsoft network homepage about the healthiest places to eat when you decide you don’t want to prepare your meal. The article was on the Health.com website. Of course eating healthy is part of the great lifestyle that everyone hopes to live. You need to workout, get plenty of rest, and supplement your body with great nutrition. One without the other just doesn’t seem to do the trick. (Okay maybe it does sometimes but more often than not, you’re not playing with a full deck.) The article highlights ways to eating out without gaining a pound and lists a few dining options for a great night on the town without sacrificing your body.

Upscale Luxury Hotel in Savannah, Georgia

October 15, 2008

In April of 2008, travelers to the Savannah, Georgia area were introduced to a new contemporary luxury hotel property. Choice Hotels International announced that the first ever signed deal for the up-and-coming Cambria Suites brand had opened it’s doors to the public. It is a 97 room all-suite hotel that has received great reviews from its guests. The Cambria Suites luxury hotel in Savannah offers great amenities to both business travelers and vacationers in an environment that everyone will enjoy. I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Cambria Suites hotel in Bloomington, Minneapolis and it was nothing less than spectacular. The brand is winning awards left and right and if you get a chance to experience a stay in this hotel, I strongly recommend it.

New Macbook and Macbook Pro Unveiled Today

October 14, 2008

Well, Apple has done it again. Steve Jobs and his crew have finally sell a laptop for under $1000 (more like at $1000 with a price tag of $999 for the old model) in the new release of the newest generation of Macbook computers. The Macbook and Macbook Pro have very similar aesthetic features in the aluminum solid body enclosure. Both laptops do have the Macbook Air black keyboard pad. The coolest thing with the two laptops is the glassy mouse/touch pad where there is no button anymore. Since the entire pad is the surface, it’s clickable anywhere.

The above screenshot was pulled off of the Apple.com homepage today. The computers also have an upgraded graphics processor that is claiming to deliver up to five times the performance in only half of the size. I think I like the new models. Even though the new laptops had just come out, I’m still very happy with my purchase because I got the free iPod Touch and a pretty solid box that does exactly what I need it to.

New Macbook From Apple – October 14th

October 14, 2008

So today is the day that the new Apple laptops will make their debut. The Macbook, Macbook Pro, and Macbook Air are all set to have a face lift as well as some pretty cool internal mods as well. The Macbook Pro computers are supposed to have an aluminum frame as well as Macbook Air style black keyboard keys. The Airs may have the same physical design, but the hard drive is rumored to be bigger at 120 to 128 GB of memory. The great thing about the new Macbooks, is that they even have a model (we’ll see) that breaks the $1,000 barrier. I’ve heard anything from $899 to $999 but we’ll see. A few more hours and we’ll get a chance to find out what Steve Jobs and his army have been up to.

Back from The Twin Cities

October 13, 2008

I just got back from a weekend in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and it was a blast. Six good friends of mine went out to visit one of our good friends that is now attending Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. The weekend was full of good times times and making new memories while reminiscing on old ones. We stayed at the Cambria Suties luxury hotel near the Mall of America. My girlfriend and her friend definitely enjoyed the location.

The food was great and I even got to see the Cathedral of St. Paul and attend a Saturday night mass. The structure was amazing and unlike anything I have ever seen before. This was a trip to remember. But for now, I’m back in P-City and enjoying life with my pups.

All Travel and No Play…

October 8, 2008

To some, the title of this post may not make sense because traveling is playing for many youth who are my age or younger. But to my girlfriend, it’s all travel and all work. She has been traveling the time zones for the past two weeks and her body is taking a beating. She started off heading to Orlando for two days, came back for three, then took a flight out to Charlotte before coming back yesterday. Tomorrow we are heading to the Twin Cities in Minnesota until Sunday and then she’ll have to go off to Irving, Texas on Tuesday. I have no idea how she does it because hopping back and fourth between time-zones would totally take a toll on my body. I wish her company would just keep them on one place long enough to rest or at least spread out the trips so their bodies can calm down a bit. They should just all get rooms in an extended stay hotel in Texas and make the trip longer. That way, they can rest and my girlfriend can go out and catch some sights instead of taking every second she can to close her eyes and recuperate. Either that or postpone the trip for a week or so. Oh well, at least she’ll have it all over with soon.

The HuB understands that buying anything in this day and age is tough, but we hope that these extra savings on shipping costs can help make things a little easier.

Cambria Suties Hotel Wins Award From “Official Best of Minnesota”

October 3, 2008

The Official Best Of Minnesota gave it’s award for best new contemporary hotel to a property in Bloomington near the Mall of America and the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport. Besides the its close proximity to the airport and largest shopping center in the country, the Cambria Suites luxury hotel is able to offer visitors a wide-open welcoming area in the lobby and a private getaway in the rooms. Business travelers and vacationers alike can find themselves relaxing in the pool, fitness center, or just resting in the luxurious rooms. I’m heading out in six days to stay at this exact hotel so I’m even more excited to see for myself.

Vice-Presidential Debate in St. Louis, Missouri

October 2, 2008

Tonight is the night that the Vice-Presidential debate betweek Joe Biden and Sarah Palin will occur as each party attempts to win the votes of America. The debate will be an interesting one where two people of extremely different styles and backgrounds will square off. Will the debate have the experienced Joe Biden ripping into Sarah Palin as the inexperienced Senator that she is? We’ll see. I’m a registered Republican but I can’t say that I’m going to be voting for McCain for the third term of the Bush administration. McCain has sided with Bush and voted in favor of his bills 91% of the time in the last eight years. Not to mention McCain’s health. If something happens, then the presidency will be passed to..PALIN???!!! C’mon, that’s not a very promising future, she couldn’t even name one newspaper that she reads regularly and her answer made her look less intelligent. Maybe she is doing it on purpose to lower expectations for tonights debate, who knows? I just can’t see someone like her authoring the next chapters of the country into a good economic standing. To each his own though right? Regardless of the opinions, you need to watch the debate tonight. If you’re off of work turn on the tube and stay up-to-date with the issues going on in America. If you’re on vacation or traveling for work, get cozy in your hotel room and make an opinion for yourself. It’s good to see that more kids my age are getting involved into playing a part in the future of the United States. With that kind of formula, we can’t fail. We’re a great country voting for our next leader is just the beginning.
