So I know it’s a day early, but I’ll be out of town and away from an internet connection for a few days. I’m heading home for the holidays and I just wanted to wish all of you a safe and happy Holiday. I hope it’s a great one with good family fun and shopping (if you’re into that thing) on black Friday. Be safe!
Pedors – New Products at The HuB
November 25, 2008Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve written but things have just been going crazy. The HuB is starting to blow up and in typical fashion, my partner and I decided to beef things up a bit with some new products and a crazy Holiday promo (keep your eyes peeled) to give our guests something to look forward to. Well we’ve recently added a new line of products from Pedors. The company is known for their expertise in orthopedic shoes and their ability to engineer a fashionable product that stands up to the test of support and durability. We have a variety of Pedors men’s orthopedic shoes but we added so many shoes to the women’s category that we had to split them up into two parts here and here. Let us know what you think of the products and if you have any other ideas for additional brands to add to the site, we’d love to hear what you have to say.
Colorado State University vs. Southern Utah University
November 17, 2008One of my good friends came up to me today with a bit of a dilemma. He was at Arizona State for a few semesters but had realized that this place just wasn’t keeping him happy. Hey if you’ve only got one life to live why not go to a place that you enjoy for what some may say are the “funnest years of your life?” He is debating on Colorado State University and Southern Utah University. For me it’s a no-brainer, I love Colorado and am not exactly a fan of Utah. Maybe growing up in Page, AZ which is on the Arizona/Utah border put a damper on the state up north but I think I’ve had my fair share of time in Utah.
If I were in his shoes though, I would definitely suggest visiting each campus. There is something deeper than what the brochures and internet reading can provide and that is the campus environment. You just can’t put that on paper. I had told him to head up to each place for a few days and stay at a few hotels near the campuses (particularly the Cedar City Comfort Inn and the Fort Collins Comfort Inn, I’ve heard great things about both of those hotels) and schedule a few campus visits to interact with students. Another thing that I did when deciding on schools too was just walk around and try to get an overall feel for the attitude of all the students. Were they gloomy, stressed, carefree, focused, etc. I really feel that the visit is what makes or breaks a future-student’s decision to attend a school once an academic field is decided or even undecided.
Getting into the Christmas spirit
November 14, 2008With all of the music and decorations surrounding us (not to mention the barrage of spam emails in the inbox) it’s hard not to start thinking about the Holidays already. I’m not complaining though, it really is the best time of year for me. I love the friends, the family, the damn good food, but most of all, I just really love what Christmas is all about. Sometimes with all of the chaos and stress going on with gift buying and party planning it’s hard to keep the true meaning of Christmas in your mind. Anyway, I’m not trying to be all peachy and all of that garbage, but with our current economy resembling a pile of dog droppings, it’s still possible to spend time with those you love and enjoy what you have.
Back from a weekend in Page, AZ
November 10, 2008Sorry it has been so long since my last post. I’ve just been super busy and over the weekend I went up to good ole’ Page, Arizona for a wedding. One of my long-time buddies was getting married an I was lucky enough to be a groomsmen. It was good times and great fun seeing friends that I haven’t seen for a few years now. I even spent some time at home because my parents still live there. If that weren’t the case though, I wouldn’t mind booking a nice hotel in Page sometime so that my girl and I can actually go up there and catch some sites. Nonetheless I’m back in town and ready to roll.
Build-a-Bear Extraordinaire
November 3, 2008So this was an interesting Halloween for me. My birthday was the day before but my girlfriend and I decided to celebrate the day on Friday because it was a weekend and we didn’t have to worry about heading back home to get some rest early. She took me to a restaurant called Maggianos next to a row of nice hotels and then, out of the blue, she suggested we head to Build-A-Bear which was way more fun than I had anticipated.
We each created our own little bunny rabbits (one male, one female of course) and dressed them up in their own little bunny clothes. Mine had an argyle vest and khaki pants. My girlfriend’s had little heels and the whole get up, it was great. Not too bad for a guy that does a bit of SEO huh? See, we’re not all that boring.
